Thoughts on Entrepreneurship in India

This looks like it's going to be a good discussion - already has become, really:

Sramana Mitra has raised some questions about Entrepreneurship in India.

There are around 40 comments already on the above post by Sramana.

I think this is an important question / topic for any and all who are interested in entrepreneurship both specifically in India and generally anywhere in the world (because some of the points are likely to be generic in nature, though some will be specific to India and it's environment.) Also likely to be of interest generally, because there are bound to be comparisons of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in India vs. in other places :-)

I'm going to post my own thoughts here on this topic, also, maybe, some quotes of some achievers who have spoken on this or relevant, related topics).

I'll do this multiple times, incrementally, in this same single post (or possibly in a series of posts), over the coming days, as I develop my thoughts on this topic.

Will start off by saying that I agree with some of the comments on the cultural issues that inhibit entrepreneurship in India.

Dear reader, if you have an interest in this overall topic, please consider sharing your thoughts at Sramana's blog post on the topic, over here.

More to follow ...
